Oh well, I'm looking at it this way, when it comes to people on the government payroll at least we know ACORN is out there working overtime. I guess the stimulus money is at least doing something out there.
OK, so now the Dems have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. Frankly that's a good thing, now we won't have to go through the silly two or three night waiting game while they work on the dependable Democrat votes of Snow and the other nitwit from Maine to pass another thing to empower government.
The interesting thing will be to see the court fight in five and a half years when Franken starts whining that he was cheated out of half a year in office.
Gee do ya think?

WHAT A BUNCH OF B*************
Get out in the Streets people
American Communism is on the Move
It simply is easier to market a left wing protest, as that incident seeks to take from others and thus the participants have nothing to lose and all to gain. A right wing protest would consist of people marching in the streets for the right to keep what is theirs. Thus it will never happen as it is generally simpler to move.
Sure, everyone cares about their country, or state or home town. But in the end, when the populous of the home town turns on you to steal from you, romanticism is tempered, love quickly turning to loathing. In short, it is always easier to destroy than to create, to steal than to enrich. Unfortunately that is why the left will always have the easier job. They simply have to lure people into the notion to take the easy road in life and let others pick up the slack. That's not a hard sell once sloth is encouraged, and the left is expert at encouraging sloth, irresponsibility and greed.
Would the last one to leave please turn off the - compact fluorescent, solar powered, on for five hours a day when the government allows us powered bulb?
Thank you.
OMG....you are going Galt on us? Where would afar be? We lefties have Canada, Europe, Australia. But where can righties go to wait for armegeddon?
Anyway capitalists leave all the time, if you don't believe that, then please, let's not hear any more nonsense from you about outsourcing. According to you it must not exist since you think the idea of capitalists leaving is so improbable.
Incidentally, I wouldn't be so sure the lefties are in ascendancy. It was nice to see yesterday that once again I was right and you were wrong. We lead on emissions and passed cap and trade in the house. Did India follow suit as you claimed they would? Of course not, their environment minister said on Tuesday that under no circumstances would they curtail emissions. Good for them! So, another bit of fun time for me as we watch you twist and turn to avoid admitting you were wrong. Here are some options for you:
1 - Claim we didn't lead soon enough.
2 - Employ Dean Weasel number 2 by launching into a senseless history lesson on India's internal political structure.
3 - Blame it on Bush.
Or of course you could just admit that I predicted correctly and you were wrong. However Dean admitting he was wrong is something that never happens.
Australia ranks above us in what way? By whom?
> Sorry to disappoint you but even Australia ranks above us.
I assume, Rupert, that you know that Australia ratified the Kyoto Treaty in Dec 2007.

Rupert, could you be clearer? Do you mean destruction like has taken place in the liberal bastion of San Francisco, where in the last three decades the most dynamic and wealth-producing of all industries was born -- Silicon Valley?
Or do you mean liberal bastions like Boston, which has the best universities of any city in the world?
Or perhaps liberal Seattle, where one of the wealthiest corporations in history has thrived?
I guess you mean those conservative dynamos of creativity and wealth such as Alabama, Mississippi, Utah, and Idaho.... Can you specify? Thanks.
In addition, one really doesn't have to actually leave, one could simply wait, which is what most will do. We are seeing that right now, not a lot of people starting businesses. The Democrats have the government for a little while, but given the mood out there, I doubt it is for very long.
I have told you time and time again to think a little bit before you comment. This was definitely one of your more silly cases of engaging mouth before putting brain in gear.
You did not write that it was generally simpler to wait. But wait for what exactly? For Al Frankens term to expire? Or maybe longer?
"The Democrats have the government for a little while, but given the mood out there, I doubt it is for very long."
The "mood" is that the Democratic party is polling about 55-35 favorable to unfavorable, and the Republican party is polling about the opposite. You need to watch something other than Fox to get a clear picture.
http://www.pollingreport.com/institut2.htm#Democrats
But all things go in cycles. After the Hoover Administration, the Democrats managed to retain the presidency for 28 of the next 26 years, inerrupted only by a quite moderate Republican. They retained Congress even longer, 52 years wtith only brief interruptions. If we get a similar run, you won't see much Republican rule for the rest of your natural life Rupert.
True, I probably should have written that. But let's face it moving can easily be accomplished by outsourcing.
>But wait for what exactly? For Al Frankens term to expire? Or maybe longer?
Um, are you unaware that a third of the Senate is up for reelection every two years? Or what is the Franken reference in regard to? Looks like its time for a Dean Weasel. Personally Id try Dean Weasel 1 this time, failure to read.
>The "mood" is that the Democratic party is polling about 55-35 favorable to unfavorable, and the Republican party is polling about the opposite. You need to watch something other than Fox to get a clear picture.
I don't even get Fox. I haven't seen Fox in over ten years.
I don't really give as much stock to polls as you do anyway.
>After the Hoover Administration, the Democrats managed to retain the presidency for 28 of the next 26 years, inerrupted only by a quite moderate Republican. They retained Congress even longer, 52 years wtith only brief interruptions
Ahh, the ever present history lesson of questionable relevancy. That's our Dean!
You know, one nice thing though about your history lesson is it does bring to mind that the past six months combined with the deficits to come will once again firmly cement the Dems as the tax and spend party, the position they have historically occupied. Frankly I think that a few years hence, that's where history will say you guys blew it. Only time will tell though.
>If we get a similar run, you won't see much Republican rule for the rest of your natural life Rupert.
Aww Dean - Are you sleeping with Carville's new book under your pillow? That's so cute.
But anyway, that's if you get a similar run. Its sort of like saying if I find $1M dollars I'm a millionaire, or if I find a Rolls Royce, I have a really nice car. It's kind of a meaningless statement, but I guess if I was going to look to one guy who would think a single election meant that it was probable his party would control government for 50 years it would be you Dean.
I guess time will tell. Sure looks like you are putting a lot of stock into a single election. Id say given the mood out there its a little preemptive. You can quote all the polls you like, but a president running up trillion dollar deficits combined with the fact that every tax hike seems to get rejected by the voters across the country doesn't bode well for your party.
Maybe so. Only over the past 28 years, Republican presidents submitted budgets and presided over deficits at a pretty significant level, and the only balanced budgets we had were under a Democratic president. People tend to remember these things, and if they don't we have historical data. The voting public has a choice between a tax and spend party versus a cut taxes and spend party. Which is the more responsible way to govern?
Ya Haaa! Did I call that or what?
Dean never admits he was wrong.
Fact is you claimed if we lead, they would follow. Instead they went 180 degrees in the opposite direction. So that's a two fer for me, one on predicting at least what India would do, and two on predicting you would never admit you were wrong. Cha Ching - Two points!
>Australia ranks above us in what way?
As I said, economic freedom. But, that would have required you reading and you never do that before responding. Half cocked Dean pops off again.
>By whom?
By the Heritage Foundation, they do an annual survey of economic freedom. Not exactly a bunch of lefty loving types there, but they sure rank Australia, and five other countries, above us.
>Republican presidents submitted budgets and presided over deficits at a pretty significant level
Not really. When your guy is running deficits over $1T it is real hard to call a deficit that was a fraction of that significant.
>People tend to remember these things, and if they don't we have historical data.
Well, considering that the historical data is going to show off the charts deficits for your guy, your logic bodes quite well for the Republicans and less for the 50 year Reich you are so giddy for.
But then again, you never were much for history. Last I checked, you were under the impression the Reagan and Bush tax cuts caused a deficit.
I think you need to put down James Carville's book and take a look at reality.
Oh...the Heritage Foundation. OK. So move to Singapore (#2 on their list.) Just don't let them catch you spitting on the sidewalk. And they reportedly have the most rigid land use planning system in the world. And no democracy.
And Hong Kong (#1)? Ruled by communist China, yet freeist markets in the world according to Heritage. Even I can't be that ironic.
"When your guy is running deficits over $1T it is real hard to call a deficit that was a fraction of that significant."
"My guy's" current budget is the final one of the Bush Administration plus the stimulus spending. "Your guys" racked up about 12 trillion in accumulated debt.
"Well, considering that the historical data is going to show off the charts deficits for your guy, your logic bodes quite well for the Republicans and less for the 50 year Reich you are so giddy for."
We won't know that until we have historic data on Obama, which will take 8 years or so, by which time we will either have a strong economy back again or we won't. If we do then politically his deficit record won't matter. As for being giddy....at times yes. I do feel that way. As much as you may have in say 2004.
"But then again, you never were much for history. Last I checked, you were under the impression the Reagan and Bush tax cuts caused a deficit. "
The accumulated debt under Reagan increased by 20%, and by 13% under Bush 1. It decreased .6% under Clinton. Reagan and Bush ran deficits every single year they were president. Its simple math Rupert. It is reality.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
If your business is not location dependent, it's time to leave Oregon.
I have commercial and residential real estate contacts in Washington and Idaho and will be happy to help you find a new home and business location in a less hostile state. There will, however, be an 11% surcharge on my fee to cover the new gross receipts tax.
