Delia Lopez is making a high spirited run against Congressman Earl Blumenauer -- but she doesn’t live in the district. It is being said that you do not have to live in the Congressional district to run for a Congressional seat. Lopez lives in the Eugene area. Very nice lady, very mind puzzling race.

Hatfield's address was a hotel when he ran for re-election to the Senate. He was a regular visitor to Oregon when the Senate was in recess. But of course, that was after he spent decades climbing the ladder while living in Oregon.

Bottom line: it is what you do, not where you live. And in that regard, Hatfield was the King of Pork; he really brought home the bacon for Oregon.

Thanks for calling me a "very nice lady" I am usually called pushy! I push the Constitution, as we all must to ensure our rights! Our constitution was written very precisely to restrain the power of government and to protect the rights of the people. We have allowed our leaders to overstep their constitutionally limited authority on many little items, and now they are ignoring it entirely! We must not allow this to happen. We the people must band together to Take Back our Country! Back from the corporations that have purchased our representatives, back from the illegal aliens that are abusing the systems we paid to put in place to care for our disabled, disadvantaged or senior citizens. Back from the Federal authority that is usurping the powers that were to be held by the states and using money they took from us to black mail us.

Here are the residency requirements for Congress. Senate also, as they are federal offices the vote of any congressman in the Nation effects each of us. Sorry I got sidetracked earlier.


We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.


Article I
Section 1. All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

Section 2. The House of Representatives shall be composed of members chosen every second year by the people of the several states, and the electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature.

No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five years, and been seven years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen.
